Montessori at the State Fair

Minnesota State Fairgrounds – Minnesota is home to almost 200 public, charter and private Montessori schools serving over 15,000 Minnesota children and their families. Montessori is a high-quality education choice for the residents of MN. Earlier this year, U.S News and World Report ranked Great River School in St. Paul (a public Montessori charter school) the best high school in the state.

With curriculum for children from ages 0 to 18, Montessori is the only education philosophy designed to support a child’s growth and development from birth to adulthood. Characterized by multi-age classrooms, freedom of movement and materials-based learning, Montessori is a scientifically-based education philosophy founded over 100 years ago by Dr. Maria Montessori, Italy’s first female physician. There are over 22,000 Montessori schools world-wide in over 110 countries. Famous Montessori alumni include innovators like the founders of Google, Sergey Brin & Larry Page, Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, Helen Keller, and cellist, Yo Yo Ma.

Minnesota Montessori Network is a grass-roots organization that believes quality Montessori education should flourish in Minnesota. We are here to help that happen. We cultivate connections between Montessorians in Minnesota and Minnesotans to Montessori.

This is Minnesota Montessori Network’s first year at the “Great Minnesota Get-Together”. You can find us in the Education Building, Booths 50 & 51.
